JULIANNE'S BIO
Julianne Viani is a freelance sportscaster for ESPN, CBS Sports Network, SNY, and other Networks. As a former profesional basketball player in Europe and Division I player at Marist College, Julianne has covered a wide range of sports including football, basketball, soccer, softball, and Lacrosse both at the college and high school level. Ms. Viani is best known among the Marist College community as one of its most celebrated women's basketball players, ranking in the program's top 10 in nine statistical categories. She was a member of the women's basketball team that reached the NCAA Sweet 16 in 2007, the school's first ever in history. Julianne's play on the court led to numerous awards, including MAAC Most Valuable Player, two-time All-MAAC selection and four-time MAAC All-Academic selection. She is the first female student-athlete in Marist history to play in four NCAA Tournaments, was named ESPN The Magazine Second Team Academic All-District, and went on to play professionally in Europe's EuroCup. She was named Marist College's Female Athlete of the Year in 2009 and was inducted into the MAAC Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014 in Springfield, Massachusetts among the greats (see html link on left for video)
Julianne is also a motivational/faith based speaker. Her faith in Jesus Christ is the driving force in her life. She has partnered with other organizations doing missions work in third world countries and has a passion to spread God's love. She has recently partnered with Pass the Rock Ministries, an organization founded by Erik Olson aiming to spread faith and hope to underprivileged youth in the prison system and other places using basketball as a common ground (See video below). Her many challenges and successes as a former athlete and current sportscaster have molded her into a person of admiral character. In an ever shaking world, she encourages others it's possible not to shake with it by telling her story and stressing the importance of hard work and determination. Although Julianne has many goals she still hopes to attain, her life is a prime example that a person can walk by faith and see great things happen in unexpected ways.
